HAPPENINGS

                                                                                                   September 2014

Crosby, Stills & Nash

Appearing at: THE COUNTY BOWL - Saturday, September 20, 2014, 7:00 P.M.

Do not miss the return to the County Bowl of the greatest living legends of rock and roll, David Crosby, Stephen Stills, and Graham Nash. It is impossible to exaggerate the historic and cultural significance of this iconic rock and roll trio.

They bridged the '60s and '70s with their songs about peace and love in a time of war.

'Marrakesh Express', their first hit single in 1969 was originally written by Graham Nash for his previous band, the Hollies.

In 1970, Jerry Garcia agreed to play pedal steel on 'Teach Your Children'if the trio would teach the Grateful Dead how to sing harmony.

'Long Time Gone' was written in response to the 1968 assassination of Robert Kennedy.

Joni Mitchell heard about 'Woodstock' from boyfriend Graham Nash, who was there with Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young - it was only their second performance. She wrote the song, the trio electrified it, and made it a hit in 1970.

Neil Young wrote 'Ohio' after the National Guard fired on protesting students at Kent State University.

Stephen Stills wrote 'Suite: Judy Blue Eyes' for his girlfriend Judy Collins and the song served as a great introduction to the trio's classic debut album.

To see these three legends of rock and roll perform together in Santa Barbara after being responsible for creating a significant part of rock and roll's heritage over the past 45 years is an honor and a privilege. Before Elvis, before the Beatles, even before the Grateful Dead, there was David Crosby from the original Byrds, Stephen Stills from Buffalo Springfield, and Graham Nash from the Hollies.

Bring your children to experience an historic performance of rock and roll at The County Bowl on Saturday, September 20 at 7:00 P.M.
